The law of attraction refers to the concept that states you will attract into your life whatever you focus on. In other words, whatever you give your energy and attention to is what will come back to you.
In practice, this means that when you focus on the abundance of good things in your life, you will automatically attract more positive things into your life. On the contrary, if you position yourself (or your mindset) on negative thoughts and only focus on what you lack in life, then you will ultimately attract negativity into your life and what you want most will continue to elude you.
Sounds pretty simple, right? But if it was that simple, wouldn't we all be perfectly happy & satisfied with our lives - only become happier and more satisfied with what's continuously getting even better?
Well, I'd like to claim that beyond the fact that some people simply do not know about this insightful principle - it's often not as "simple" in practice.
The Law of Attraction works when you follow all aspects of this universal intelligence holistically - not just the "think abundant" detail.
First off, it's not so much about our thoughts but rather our feelings & emotions behind these thoughts (actually, it's the emotions that create the behaviour which results in thoughts). Hence, focusing on the true essence of where your feelings are coming from is the key starting point. Being in the energy of worthiness (regardless of what you currently do or don't have) will result in much more "positive thoughts" vs. being in the energy of frantic "OMG I'm poor and desperate" and repeating "I am rich" in-front of your mirror. Getting down to your true value-based beliefs (& turning around limiting beliefs as necessary) is your path to success. A support of a coach or a supportive membership program like To Be Magnetic might be super helpful in this regard!
Next, be sure to be IN the emotion of abundance, positivity, etc. - rather than just intellectualizing it. I always joke to my own clients whom I mentor, "you can't just phone it in" as it relates to your self-development. You can read all the self-empowerment books you're able to get your hands on, but unless you truly tap into the FEELING that these inspiring instructions may provide, you're not really doing yourself any favours. If you're having trouble connecting to the feeling of wealth, inner joy, or any other state you'd like to operate in, try remembering a time when you WERE in this state. What were you doing? Who were you with? Where were you? What were you seeing, smelling, etc.? Bring yourself to the closest possible memory of this BEING-NESS - even if you have to kind of "hack" it by puzzle-piecing it all together.
Lastly and on a similar note, it's important to be honest with yourself - brutally honest, if & when necessary. Do your best to not glaze over negativity and face your fears head-on. Wherever you're feeling stuck, frustrated, or any other low self-worth emotions - those are valuable signs & signals to exactly what you need to work on. Be gentle on yourself and proud that you're getting to the root of it all - you can't skip this step!
The good news is that once you work through all the blocks that have you doubting if the Law of Attraction even works - it will start working for you faster & with greater ease than you could have ever imagined!
